About the role

AFRY is a leading international company driving the transition towards a more sustainable society. With technical expertise, they help both companies and organizations develop and improve innovative solutions in areas such as industry, energy, infrastructure, and societal development.

As a Mechanical Designer, you will become part of AFRY's Hydro Nordics division, where you will work with your colleagues on the development of future hydropower solutions. You will be part of an engaged team where collaboration, technical competence, and development are in focus.

You will be employed as a consultant by Academic Work and work on behalf of AFRY. The assignment is long-term, and for the right person, there are good opportunities for further development within the company.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work on mechanical design for hydropower facilities and drive projects from preliminary studies to finished design documentation. The role involves close collaboration with both customers and colleagues across several technical fields.

You will primarily:

  • Perform mechanical design and 3D modeling related to hydropower facilities
  • Produce manufacturing documentation, technical drawings, and design documentation
  • Conduct technical investigations, preliminary studies, and design assignments

We are looking for you who:

  • Have a post-secondary education in a relevant field
  • Have a few years of experience in mechanical design
  • Have experience working independently with 3D modeling, drawing production, and manufacturing documentation
  • Have experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software
  • Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as this is required in daily work
  • Hold a valid driver's license (Category B)

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with strength calculations
  • Previous work experience within hydropower, energy, or process industry

A extract from the credit register will be requested prior to employment. Since the role may involve work within security-classified projects, drug testing and security clearance may become relevant during the assignment.
