YOUR ROLE
As a Fire Engineer, you participate in municipal planning, conduct risk assessments, and work proactively to prevent accidents to reduce the risk of fires and other incidents in Skellefteå Municipality. You also serve as an advisor on fire protection, providing support to citizens, companies, and organizations.

The assignment includes accident investigations, risk management, and supervision according to the Act for the Protection Against Accidents (LSO) and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE). You will also work with operational planning and be responsible for internal exercises and training. Depending on interest, experience, and suitability, the role may also involve leadership functions within the operational activities, such as Duty Officer or Incident Commander.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for you who have education as a Fire Engineer. You have knowledge in systematic fire protection work, risk analysis, accident prevention, fire technical assessments, and safety issues in operations and properties. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and can communicate in English if needed. A B-class driver's license is required.

It is meritorious if you have experience in accident prevention work, for example as an insurance consultant or fire consultant. Also, if you have the supplementary education in rescue services for Fire Engineers (RUB). Experience in leadership, education, counseling, or development work is also valuable.

As a person, you are secure, independent, and structured. You take initiative, plan your work, and can adapt when conditions change. You collaborate well with others, see the big picture, and use your analytical abilities to make wise decisions.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
The Rescue Service is part of the Urban Development Administration in Skellefteå. The operation consists of twelve fire stations. The largest fire station is located centrally in Skellefteå and serves as the base for full-time staff. The Skellefteå Rescue Service, together with 19 other municipalities in Norrland and Västerbotten, is also part of Rescue Cooperation North (RSN). RSN is an operational command organization with a joint rescue center in Luleå, where the duty officers and alarm-and-command officers of the rescue services collaborate with SOS Alarm.
