About the role
The Business Department works to create good conditions for companies to establish themselves, grow, and develop in Södertälje. Our work covers three strategic areas:
- Dialogue, communication, and service
- Competence supply to the business community
- Business development
As an Analyst, you will become a key person in the department's development work. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data that strengthens both the department's strategic work and the municipality's decision-making.
You will work closely with business strategists, municipal leadership, and other operations, contributing analyses that create value both internally and externally.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will among other things:
- Analyze and visualize data related to business climate, establishments, and the labor market
- Follow and analyze results from Svenskt Näringsliv's business climate survey, as well as SKR's and SBA's Insight measurements
- Prepare decision support materials, reports, and presentations for management, politicians, and external stakeholders
- Contribute statistics and analyses in establishment cases and investment projects
- Develop new methods for data analysis and follow-up
- Identify trends and external factors affecting the development of the business community
- Participate in the work of the NKI Council and contribute to the municipality's development within service and business climate
- Contribute to the Business Department's other development work.

We are looking for you who
You are driven by transforming complex information into clear decision support. You combine an analytical approach with good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with people from different operations.
Requirements
- Relevant academic education in fields such as economics, statistics, business administration, social sciences, data analysis, or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
- Experience in qualified analysis or investigation work
- Very good ability to analyze and present statistics and data
- Very good knowledge of Excel and experience working in the Office suite
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
Merits
- Experience in analysis related to business development
- Experience working in the public sector or municipal operations
- Experience with business climate, NKI, or Insight measurements
- Experience with BI tools or data visualization (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience using AI as support in analysis and development work
- Experience with establishment issues and regional development.
