Special Educator for Sätoftaskolan in Höör

Höör is located in the heart of Skåne, with good train connections, beautiful nature, 17,000 inhabitants, and steady population growth. With approximately 1,400 employees, Höör Municipality is the largest employer. Many of our staff commute here.

Sätoftaskolan is a school for grades F-9 with an associated after-school center. The school also houses the municipality's adapted primary school for grades 1-9. The school is beautifully located near a lake and forest with an inspiring outdoor environment. It is possible to commute to and from the school using public transport.

Approximately 500 students attend the school. The school has one principal and two deputy principals. The staff is divided into different work groups and teaching groups led by the school's work group leaders/head teachers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a special educator with strong special pedagogical knowledge and experience in meeting and working with students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP/IF), focusing on student learning. To succeed in this role, you work in a goal-oriented and systematic manner. You are skilled at prioritizing your tasks and can work both independently and in a team. As a special educator, you have a good ability to structure, organize, and follow up on your work. Your responsibilities include mentoring staff and providing direct special pedagogical interventions with students in the adapted primary school. Analyzing results, documenting, and investigating support needs are central to the role, as is contributing to deeper reflections on teaching - both as part of the school's student health team and together with the school's pedagogues. You also work closely with school leadership on matters concerning the overall needs and development of the operation, demonstrating the ability to shift perspectives between the individual, group, and organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have experience working with students with IEPs and meeting students within the adapted primary school. You are solution-focused and find solutions for communication pathways with all students.

For the position, you must:

  • hold a degree in special education
  • have experience mentoring pedagogical staff at group and individual levels
  • have experience with documentation work as well as pedagogical investigations and action plans
  • have the ability to build good and sustainable relationships with students, staff, and guardians
  • have good knowledge of differentiated instruction and accessible learning environments
  • have good knowledge and experience working with students with various types of vulnerability in learning processes
  • want and be able to take responsibility for both your own work and the school-wide development work

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent, start date: By agreement.
Working hours: Daytime.

During weeks 29-30, any questions regarding the position should be directed to Sara Olsson. During week 31, any questions should be directed to Maria Andersson.

The position will be filled subject to necessary political decisions being made and provided it is not needed for internal use.
