About the role and your responsibilities

As a Lead Teacher/Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at Klostergårdskolan, you are part of the development work, leading and developing pedagogical practices strategically in close collaboration with school management, the student health team, and colleagues. You initiate and drive processes for collegial learning, subject development, and didactic reflection. The role also involves implementing working methods that benefit students in need of special support, often with a focus on neurodevelopmental conditions (NPF). By analyzing student results, you support colleagues in designing lessons that promote participation.

In your specialization towards special education, you teach 50%, while the remainder is linked to the special educational and lead teacher responsibilities. Your primary focus is Swedish, and the role includes driving subject development across the entire school. This autumn, our development work continues with language-developing methods and the development of Swedish as a second language instruction. As a special educator, you work at an organizational level and mentor teachers.

In your role, you are a clear role model in teaching, flexible, and unpretentious, contributing to high expectations and good results. Furthermore, you work towards an accessible and inclusive learning environment where all students receive support for their development.

You have good Swedish skills in both speech and writing and have experience working with student health matters with a special educational focus, such as assessments, writing action plans, and preparing referral materials.

You must meet the Swedish National Agency for Education's criteria for the lead teacher role. It is an advantage if you have prior experience in mentoring, process leadership, or development work.

Working as a lead teacher primarily means strengthening the pedagogical development work to achieve higher goal fulfillment. The lead teacher has a special responsibility in systematic quality work and operates with the aim of the school continuing to develop into a learning organization, acting on behalf of the principal.

  • Have shown particularly good ability to improve students' study results and have a strong interest in developing teaching.
  • Have good knowledge of developing teaching and be assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching.
