Do you want to combine operational social work with leadership, quality, and development? Do you want to help create a safer future for children and young people in vulnerable situations? We are looking for a secure and experienced team leader for the launch of our Safety Team according to Signs of Safety.
About the workplace
In the city, the Social Services Department is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society.
We are in the process of shaping ourselves according to the new social services, with a focus on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions and services, and housing.
Safety planning according to Signs of Safety is a structured approach used in families where there is great concern for the child's situation and where a placement outside the home is current or risks becoming so. Together with the child, the family, and their network, a safety plan is developed that creates conditions for security and safety, even in a challenging life situation. With us, you have the opportunity to lead your team in work that makes a real difference through close collaboration with families and their networks.
Job Responsibilities
You work closely with the case handlers, provide support in complex cases, and contribute to developing both methods and people. Sometimes the law is in focus. Sometimes it is about structure. But often it is your ability to ask the right questions – rather than having all the answers – that makes the difference. You believe that the best solutions emerge through collaboration, lack of hierarchy, and shared commitment, not through a single person.
You work with leading and coordinating the daily work within the safety team. You function as a method and operational support for employees and contribute to developing methods, routines, and quality.
Responsibilities may include among other things:
- providing support and guidance to employees in complex cases
- ensuring legally secure case handling, treatment work, and documentation according to current legislation
- introducing and supervising new employees
- participating in development and quality work
- collaborating with internal and external actors
- contributing to operational planning and follow-up together with the manager
The Safety Team is a new function within the Social Services Department in Helsingborg. As team leader, you will have a central role in building up and developing the team's mission, methods, and structure, so that it becomes a natural and long-term part of the department's work. The assignment includes convening and leading forums for collaboration, contributing to the development of resource planning, and ensuring that the team's competence is used in the best possible way.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who
- have a degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
- have at least 3 years of experience in authority enforcement within social services/children and young people
- have good knowledge of relevant legislation, such as SoL and LVU
- have experience in leadership
It is an advantage if you have training in areas such as supervision, Signs of Safety, or BBIC.
As a person
We are looking for you who is a secure and trust-inspiring leader with the ability to create engagement and development in others. You do not always need to have the quick answers – instead, you have the ability to ask questions that lead to reflection, learning, and wise decisions.
You build trusting relationships and provide support in a way that strengthens others in their own responsibility. When the situation requires it, you dare to challenge established ways of working, while at the same time encouraging and lifting up your employees in their development.
You work in a structured manner, are solution-oriented, and can prioritize even when the pace is high and many questions need to be handled simultaneously. With a calm and stable approach, you create security for both employees and collaboration partners.
For you, good treatment is a natural part of leadership. You value collaboration, lack of hierarchy, and believe that the best results are created together – preferably in a work environment where there is also room for warmth, joy, and a good laugh.
