The National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. SiS Youth Home Råby receives both girls and boys. We have both closed and open placements for closed youth care, as well as treatment places for young people placed under the Law (LVB) regarding care of young persons in special cases.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of making a vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people towards new and less risky ways of living. As a night shift Treatment Assistant, you ensure that routines on the ward function as intended. You contribute to maintaining safety on the institution according to our procedures. Together with other treatment staff, you, as a Treatment Assistant, will help create a safe and developmental environment with clear structure and predictability. You must inspire trust and be clear in your adult role. Duties as a Treatment Assistant include documenting the young people's development and otherwise performing the tasks assigned to a day shift Treatment Assistant.

Scheduled working hours: 89% with weekend shifts.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You cooperate well with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You must also have:

  • A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a community college or university college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
  • Category B driver's license
  • Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., Probation Officer
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or LSS care
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., Case Officer at the Detention Center
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., addiction care, youth care, young girls, etc.)

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Employment:

The position is a permanent employment at 89% and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. Application deadline: 2026-07-24.
