Job Description

We are now looking for a Social Worker/Social Pedagogue for HVB Kompassen, which caters to young people between the ages of 13–18, with the possibility of placement up to 21 years old, who are in need of care, structure, and security. The facility offers a stable and supportive environment where the young person is given the conditions to develop based on their individual needs and prerequisites.

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic, motivational, and supportive interventions that strengthen the young person's independence and well-being. You are involved in many aspects concerning the young person and will collaborate with the network of professionals surrounding our young people, such as social services, outpatient care, schools, healthcare, and relatives. You work on creating implementation plans and keeping journal notes, as well as holding conversations with the young person. The work is broad and also includes practical tasks and other matters related to the operation of the facility.

You are expected and given the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that children and young people receive safe and professional treatment. The work requires you to be active and work for good quality and operational development with the aim of stimulating and motivating the young person to develop their abilities. Guidance and supervision in cases are provided by both the team leader, an external supervisor, and a collaboration psychologist from Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP).

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a good approach, is empathetic, and has the ability to meet young people where they are. You are team-oriented, receptive, and actively contribute to a positive work climate. You reflect on your own actions and feel comfortable both giving and receiving feedback.

You work in a structured manner but are also flexible and can adapt to changed situations and needs. You are a secure and stable person, even in challenging situations, and have a professional yet personal approach. You can set clear boundaries while working with a low-affective and respectful approach. We see engagement and drive as a matter of course.

Since the work involves a lot of communication, documentation, and conversations, you must have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Requirements for the full-time temporary position:

• Degree in Social Work or a university degree of at least 180 credits within social work
• Experience in social work with children and young people or therapeutic work
• Class B driver's license

Meritorious

• Education in social law, Journal Digital, BBIC, MI, Repulse, Connect, HAP, CPU, relapse prevention, crime as a lifestyle, low-affective approach, or other methods regarding work with children and young people.
• Experience with documentation

About the Workplace

HVB Kompassen is a residential home with 11 places where children and young people aged 13–21 can reside to be offered independence training and care based on the young person's individual needs. Decisions and benefit assessments form the basis for the placement according to the Social Services Act (SoL) or the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU) and are made by the responsible social secretary in dialogue with the young person, guardian, and person in charge at the residence.
