Your role

In the role of Product Manager for our communication system solutions, you will lead our work within the Land Communications area. It is within this area that our department develops and delivers various communication systems that form a critical part of many of our customers' systems.

Our integrated network-based communication solutions often consist of several subsystems, where tactical radio solutions, intercom systems, satellite communication, and 5G are some of the technologies used. Since our customers follow technological developments with great interest, it will be vital to evaluate the ongoing development within different communication solutions.

The role involves responsibility for driving the work for our products through their life cycles, as well as following and identifying relevant market and technology areas and their trends. You will also conduct concept studies (CONOPS) regarding how solutions are applied in customer environments and in various applications.

The Product Manager has a significant responsibility for representing the department in sales campaigns where their designated products are included. You are expected to contribute to these sales processes with technical expertise and knowledge within your product area.

You will work closely with the department's management and steer the technological development of our offerings and solutions forward. We work short-term to solve our customers' needs here and now, but also long-term so that we know what we can offer and deliver in the future.

Your profile

We are looking for a senior engineer who has worked with the development of products or solutions within the communications field. We would like you to have substantial experience of military communication solutions and production development towards the defense sector. Since you will both lead the development work and participate in our sales campaigns, we would like you to have experience in leadership and steering, as well as strong business acumen in your working approach. You are interested in people and operations and bring a technical interest into the role.

It is meritorious if you have previous experience of systems engineering work within the defense industry, knowledge of FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration), and work within the Swedish Armed Forces.

As a person, you are meticulous and responsible. You feel a strong sense of ownership over your tasks and follow through on your commitments. It is a given for you to work towards economic profitability, which you achieve through good business understanding. Your work is characterized by drive and a solution-oriented approach to challenges that arise. Your working style is structured, and you have a good ability to follow processes and routines. A prerequisite for this role is your good communication skills, where you communicate clearly and effortlessly in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing.

Travel is part of the position, therefore a B driver's license is required.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

Please note that the selection process will take place during the summer. Interviews are expected to be conducted in October.
