We are now looking for an IT Security Specialist who wants to take clear responsibility for the security level of our shared platforms and services.

Your role

As an IT Security Specialist, you work closely with our platforms and services and are responsible for ensuring that the right security level is in place and works in practice.

You operate in the borderland between requirements and technical delivery.

This means that you:

• Interpret and concretize what should apply within IT security for our platforms and services
• Translate security requirements into concrete and actionable measures
• Follow up to ensure they are correctly implemented
• Identify deficiencies and ensure they are remediated

The work includes, among other things, risk and vulnerability analyses, security monitoring and controls, security monitoring (SOC) and incident handling, continuity, recovery, and backup, architecture and change reviews, as well as supplier follow-up.

The role involves steering, prioritizing, and following up on security work, rather than performing all technical measures yourself.

The role requires that you have a good understanding of how security works in both on-premises environments and cloud services.

We are looking for you

Who has a technical foundation in IT security and thrives in a role where you take responsibility for the big picture.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in IT security in a technical environment
• Experience with security in platforms and services in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud)
• Experience with risk and vulnerability analyses and translating these into actions
• Experience with security incidents and follow-up

As well as good technical understanding in:

• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Microsoft environment (Azure and Microsoft 365 or equivalent)
• Endpoint, network, and infrastructure security, including segmentation and basic understanding of backup and recovery
• Security monitoring (SOC) and understanding of incident handling, continuity, and recovery

You also have experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, or Entra ID, as well as work with security audits, vulnerability scans, or supplier follow-up.

You:

• Understand how security is implemented in platforms and infrastructure
• Can prioritize based on risk and business value
• Do not get stuck in details but drive the work forward
• Are clear in your communication and can collaborate with both technology and business units

About the environment:

You work within Digital Platforms and Services, a central function responsible for Mälarenergi's shared IT platforms.

The environment includes, among other things, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID, client platform (Windows 11 and Intune), server and infrastructure platforms (on-premises and cloud) including network, segmentation, and backup, as well as security and information protection (Defender and Purview) and integration platform.

It is a hybrid environment with high demands for security, availability, and control.
