Do you want to take strategic overall responsibility for the technical foundation of a socially vital group? At Mälarenergikoncernen, we are now looking for an architect who wants to set the direction, create structure, and ensure sustainable digital platforms for the future. The role is central to how we develop, manage, and maintain our shared digital environment – from client and identity to cloud, infrastructure, and security.

Your role

The role is responsible for the overall architecture within Digital Platforms and Services. This means defining, maintaining, and further developing target architecture and technical guidelines for the group's shared digital platforms.

The area of responsibility includes, among other things, client platform (Windows 11, Intune), identity and access (Entra ID), server and infrastructure platforms (on-premises and cloud), Azure, Microsoft 365, information protection (Purview), security platform (Defender), storage, backup, and integration.

You have the mandate to steer the architecture in the area and ensure that solutions are feasible, scalable, secure, and manageable. The role works closely with the group's architecture function and participates in architecture forums where overarching technical choices are analyzed and decided.

We are looking for you

Who has worked for several years in an architect role or a senior technical role with responsibility for platforms and infrastructure. You are accustomed to working with target architecture, principles, and standards in complex IT environments and have experience with both cloud and on-premises. You focus on structure and long-term sustainability rather than point solutions, and are comfortable making technical decisions that affect multiple platforms simultaneously. Documentation and clear architectural decisions are a natural part of your working method.

You have

• At least approx. 5 years of experience in architecture work or a corresponding senior technical role
• Experience with overall architecture for platforms and infrastructure
• Experience with hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud)
• Experience in developing and applying target architecture, technical principles, and standards
• Experience in steering technical initiatives rather than being an operational specialist yourself
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture
• Ability to work in a structured and long-term manner
• Experience in documenting architecture, dependencies, and technical choices
• Understanding of platform services and service catalog as a basis for delivery and maintenance

You have good technical understanding within

• Microsoft platform: Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune
• Infrastructure: server environments, networks, storage, and virtualization
• Identity and access as an architectural foundation
• Basic security architecture and how requirements are translated into design and platforms

Advantageous is experience with:

• Architecture frameworks
• Purview, Defender, or corresponding security platforms
• Azure governance and structured cloud setup
• D365 or other Microsoft-based business systems
• Integration platforms and integration patterns
• Data platforms or automation, such as Power Platform

As a person, you can

• See and handle dependencies between platforms and technical capabilities
• Set technical direction and stand by your architectural decisions
• Prioritize structure and long-term architecture over detailed technical levels
• Communicate clearly about architecture, even to non-technical recipients
• Work independently and take responsibility for the whole

About the environment

The role operates in a technically broad and complex platform environment where architecture is used as a steering tool. The focus is on a stable foundation, clear standards, and controlled development pace rather than quick point solutions.

You will work with the entire platform stack, close to technical teams and decision-makers, with the mandate to influence how the digital foundation is built and maintained over time.
