Your Role

In the role of Lead Engineer for the Communication Solutions department, you will be a leading technical resource within the department. This role will have overarching "Design Authority" responsibility, which in our process means ensuring that our system deliveries meet set requirements and are technically feasible. This role also has approval responsibility at technical milestones and for declaring the system's design. The responsibility will be at a more overarching level for all projects and not for a specific project.

Together with the line management and our projects, you will, in this role, ensure in a reviewing and supporting capacity that we follow our development processes and execute them efficiently within our projects. You will also support the line management with technical investigations and questions and be a driving force in the department's development within the development area.

The role will work for the line management but needs to collaborate extensively with our product leaders and our projects where the systems are developed. It will also be a regular participant in the management group.

Our department drives several delivery projects where we develop advanced and complex customer-adapted system solutions with a communication system as the hub. We are in a strong expansion phase, and this role is part of strengthening the technical governance within the department.

Your Profile

We are looking for a senior engineer with top expertise in development processes and how this type of business should be conducted.

We consider it highly meritorious if you have previous experience with INCOSE and systems engineering work within the defense industry or a similar sector.

As a person, you are meticulous and responsible; you feel a strong sense of ownership over your tasks and fulfill your commitments. It is self-evident to you to work towards economic profitability, which you achieve through good business understanding. Your work is characterized by drive and a solution-oriented approach to challenges that arise; your working style is structured, and you have a good ability to follow processes and routines. A prerequisite for this role is your good communication skills, where you communicate clearly and effortlessly in both Swedish and English, orally and in writing.

Travel is involved in the position, therefore a B-driver's license is required.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for specific citizenship.

Please note that the selection process will take place during the summer. Interviews are expected to be conducted in October.
