About Us

The Orthopedic Clinic operates at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna (MSE) and Kullbergska sjukhuset in Katrineholm (KSK) and has approximately 110 employees consisting of doctors, administrative staff, nurses, and assistant nurses. The clinic assesses and treats diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, and the operations include, among other things, prosthetic, trauma, shoulder, hand, foot, back, and pediatric orthopedics, as well as arthroscopic surgery.

Your Responsibilities

As a medical secretary with us, you work in a dynamic, stimulating, and patient-focused environment with varied and changing tasks. You will become an important part of the administrative unit and collaborate closely with your colleagues. In this role, you have a key function in the operations by contributing to well-functioning administrative processes and an efficient whole. The work includes tasks that are part of the professional role of a medical secretary, while you are given the opportunity to take responsibility for additional developmental and varied assignments.

Examples of tasks:

  • Journal documentation in Cosmic
  • Diagnosis and procedure coding
  • Booking and coordination of patient visits as well as handling waiting lists
  • Handling patient cases, time booking, and telephone administration via 1177 and TeleQ
  • Administrative handling and follow-up of quality registers as part of the operations' quality and improvement work
  • Handling of various IT systems and care-related processes

We value balance between work and leisure. The work is carried out during daytime on weekdays with flexible working hours according to the current flex frame, and we offer the possibility of remote work according to the operations' conditions.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who have:

  • Education as a medical secretary/healthcare administrator or post-secondary education as a doctor's secretary/medical secretary. You who are studying to become a medical secretary/healthcare administrator and graduating soon are also welcome to apply.
  • Documented basic training in disease classification
  • Good knowledge of DRG and its logic
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good knowledge of English
  • Good IT skills, primarily in Windows environment and Office 365.

It is meritorious if you have experience with Cosmic and other IT systems relevant to Region Sörmland.

As a person, you are stable and have good self-insight. You collaborate well with others, work efficiently, and take responsibility for your tasks. You plan and organize your work in a structured way, can prioritize, and are happy to take your own initiatives. You are quality-conscious and service-oriented, have a positive attitude towards teamwork, and are open to changes and new ways of working. You enjoy contributing to the development of administrative processes together with colleagues and will have an important role in the clinic's overall collaboration.
