Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for engaged and empathetic support assistants for one of our LSS group homes located near the center of Nykvarn. In this important role, you will make a difference in the lives of our residents and work in close cooperation with the HSL team, relatives, and other professional groups to create a safe and developmental environment. As a support assistant, you will work closely with our residents and support them in their daily lives.
Your work will include among other things:
- Planning and implementing activities that promote social participation
- Providing support in daily chores and personal care
- Documenting and reporting on the development and needs of our residents
- Collaborating with colleagues, relatives/guardians, and other professions to ensure high quality in care and support
- Working from a pedagogical approach and low-affective handling
About the Operations
The LSS group home offers support and care to five individuals with different needs. Our goal is to create a safe and stimulating environment where each resident can develop based on their unique conditions and interests. We work with person-centered care and strive to create meaningful activities that promote independence and quality of life. You will become part of a team that, together with the coordinator and unit manager, will work for the development of the operations. Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend on a roster-based schedule.
Qualifications
You are empathetic, receptive, and have a strong desire to make a difference for others. You have the ability to work both independently and in a team, and you have a positive attitude towards challenges.
Requirements:
- Education in healthcare and social care, social work, or equivalent
- Both knowledge and experience of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD)
- Good knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
- Good computer skills and experience with documentation; we use LifeCare
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Experience working within LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Disabilities)
Other Information
We require you to present an extract from the suspicion and criminal record register before employment.
Nykvarn Municipality is a Swedish-speaking administrative area in Finland, and we consider it an advantage if you speak Finnish.
