Who are we looking for?

We are now seeking a passionate, curious, and enthusiastic Head Chef to build, inspire, and lead a team where a spirit of service and teamwork are at the center. You are an organized and natural leader responsible for the kitchen operations, both operationally, economically, and regarding quality.

As Head Chef, you are responsible for following laws, routines, as well as Compass Group's policies, rules, and values. The role includes responsibility for self-control, inventory, pre- and post-calculation of all dishes, monitoring of key figures, waste management, and purchasing. You are also responsible for creating sustainable dishes and menus based on trends, seasons, and guest preferences.

About Restaurant Solsta Inn

Restaurant Solsta Inn is located on the University Campus in Karlstad. We primarily serve students and university staff, but we are also open to external guests. The restaurant serves approximately 300 lunch guests per day and has a catering operation. We also run two cafes on the premises.

Who are you?

• You have education within hospitality and catering with a chef focus or equivalent.
• You have at least 5 years of experience as a chef or equivalent.
• You have at least 2 years of experience in personnel and result responsibility.
• You should have experience working with menu planning systems.
• You have excellent knowledge of gastronomy, nutrition, kitchen economics, and waste management.
• You have analytical skills and are result-oriented.
• You have the ability to plan and structure work efficiently.
• You have the ability to lead and distribute work, as well as turn decisions into action.
• You are attentive, responsive, and have good knowledge of labor law and working environment.
• You are creative and solution-oriented.
• You see your significance in satisfied guests, are positive, stress-resistant, and have an easy time collaborating and communicating.
• Through your passion, you take responsibility for maintaining a high level of service and quality in what you deliver.
• You enjoy fast-paced days, can take initiative, and are flexible in your professional role.
• You speak and write Swedish fluently.
• You are computer literate and have knowledge of Office 365.
