Did you enjoy working at the squad level as a soldier and do you like being out in the field? Then a position with us might be for you. Wing 16 (F 16) is growing and we are now looking for new colleagues who want to join our development journey! The Radar Platoon is recruiting soldiers for roles in technology, vehicle driving, and medical care.
About the Unit
The Sensor Company, part of the Air Force's Air Battle Management and Air Surveillance Battalion, is mobile and tasked with densifying, complementing, and replacing infrastructure for air radio and radar with mobile systems. The company can, with short notice, reinforce radar coverage, air radio coverage, and communications at strategic points across the country.
Main Responsibilities
As a soldier in the Radar Platoon, you will be part of a group consisting of soldiers and specialist non-commissioned officers. Your colleagues in the group include technicians, combat medics, vehicle drivers, support gunners, and high-altitude workers. Your group leader is a specialist non-commissioned officer. Consequently, there is high and diverse competence within the group, and there are good opportunities for development in daily work. The group has significant freedom in how they choose to solve their tasks.
The vehicle driver is responsible for transporting the platoon's technical systems on roads as well as in more complex terrain. Training for higher driving license categories/driver permits is included in the position. You will also receive basic knowledge of the platoon's specific systems, including how they function and are handled. You will have the opportunity to engage in physical training individually and collectively during working hours, as well as shape the training and lead training sessions for others.
Day-to-day operations are primarily conducted at Uppsala Garrison. However, the company's tasks may require the group to perform work anywhere across Sweden. During these missions, you and your group often work far away from the rest of the company.
Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team. Our organization is built on cooperation, adaptability, and a shared responsibility for the whole. This means that we are all ready to support each other, sometimes even outside our own competence and comfort zones. Therefore, as an employee, you may occasionally face new types of tasks. This is a natural part of working in the Swedish Armed Forces, which benefits both the agency and the employee's development, and you will never be given a task for which you do not have the prerequisites to handle.

You must also be able to work independently and take responsibility for your position and the group's shared equipment. You are willing to further develop yourself in the role to better contribute to the group's capability. You want to be involved in the decision-making process but also remain loyal to decisions made.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
