Acting District Court Judge at Ångermanland District Court
Ångermanland District Court is a medium-sized court centrally located in Härnösand. Härnösand is situated near the High Coast, known for its unique and beautiful landscape. Nature is close by, and there are short distances between home, work, school, preschool, and activities. Härnösand is a cathedral city and seat of a county governor, with a rich cultural and outdoor life.
Ångermanland District Court is an open and modern workplace with skilled and engaged employees. The court has an efficient and well-functioning operation and a very good collaborative climate. The court continuously works to develop its operations and working methods, has long applied a digital working approach, and offers good opportunities for remote work.
At Ångermanland District Court, criminal cases, civil cases, and matters from the municipalities of Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik are processed, as well as enforcement cases and certain types of matters from Västernorrland County. The court has its registry and main court location in Härnösand, as well as a court location in Örnsköldsvik. Approximately 40 people work at the court.
During the year, the court will move into a new court building in Härnösand, which will offer modern, secure, and functional premises. The new premises create excellent conditions for the court to continue growing and further developing its operations. At the same time, work continues to develop operations at the court location in Örnsköldsvik.

Job Responsibilities
Being an acting district court judge involves a highly qualified, interesting, and varied job. The work as a judge is independent and places high demands on integrity, as well as the ability to collaborate and consider the best interests of the entire court.
The job requires good legal knowledge, sound judgment, a sense of responsibility, flexibility, good teamwork skills, and a welcoming attitude. Work at the district court is a team effort characterized by a high pace. We are therefore looking for you who have high work capacity and thrive with varied and qualified work in an environment where we work together to solve tasks.
As an acting district court judge, you will be responsible for your own section and work with criminal cases, civil cases, and other matters. You will lead the work in your section and serve as a supervisor for the law clerk assigned to the section. As an acting district court judge, you also play an important role in supervising the court's law clerks and in the development work that is continuously carried out at the court.
Qualifications
To be considered for employment, you must be or have previously been an ordinary judge, be or have previously been a member or law clerk in the Court of Appeal, or have performed the duties of a Court of Appeal law clerk for at least six months. You must meet the requirements set out in the Judges' Board's requirement profile for ordinary judges. It is an advantage if you are a Court of Appeal assessor. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Terms of Employment
Commencement date by agreement. The positions are fixed-term appointments, for a maximum of one year.
The Swedish Courts apply individual salary setting.
