Job Description
The energy system is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by the rapid integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and large-scale AI data centers. Power electronic converters play a crucial role in enabling this transition, while simultaneously introducing new challenges related to system dynamics, stability, and control.
This project focuses on the development of modeling, stability analysis, control, and hardware solutions for converter-dominated power systems. Application areas include next-generation megawatt charging infrastructure for heavy electric vehicles and power electronic systems supporting AI data centers.
The project is funded by the EU Partnership for Clean Energy Transition and the Swedish Energy Agency. The recruited researcher will join the Division of Electric Power and Energy Systems at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), where they will work closely with world-leading power electronics groups at the University of Padua, Aalborg University, Chalmers University of Technology, and a set of industrial partners, e.g., Hitachi Energy, Energiforsk, Svenska kraftnät, and Volvo Energy.

Requirements
- Completed PhD degree or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD.
- Research expertise in power electronics and hardware development.
- Knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
- Collaborative skills.
- Independence.

About the Position
