Our special needs educator is moving on to new challenges, and we are now looking for a playful, engaged, and experienced team member.
Stockholm's habilitation unit receives children with motor disabilities aged 2–6 years. The children are offered intensive habilitation two days a week in groups of five children. The children come to the unit together with a preschool teacher. During the week, the unit receives two groups of children. The children are referred from the Region's habilitation center, which hands over the habilitation responsibility during one or more training periods (terms).

Your role
The goal of the special educational interventions is to create favorable conditions for the child's development, learning, independence, and participation.
The special needs educator plans and leads groups together with colleagues in the team and collaborates with the speech therapist regarding the children's communication and alternative communication methods. Supervision of colleagues, preschool staff, and guardians regarding attitudes, the child's development, and pedagogical issues is also part of the job.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for you who are a special needs educator or alternatively have an education assessed as equivalent by the employer. You have experience working with young children with motor and communicative functional variations. As a special needs educator with us, you need to have knowledge and experience of:
- Working with preschool children
- Motor disabilities
- Intellectual disabilities
- Autism and autism-like conditions
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), such as PECS and graphic AAC, e.g., PODD
- Vision and hearing-related issues
The position includes both administration (journal writing, etc.) and contact with many different people, which means you need to have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
You are comfortable leading groups with children and accompanying adults. You are creative, playful, and open to finding new solutions in contact with the children and their network, and you have experience with teamwork. We are looking for a colleague who is unpretentious, positive, and willing to jump in where needed. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

To work with children, you must present a valid extract from the police criminal record and suspicion register before an employment offer is made.
