The Department of Nursing Science and Health conducts education and research with a focus on care, health, and people's living conditions. We educate nurses, radiographers, specialist nurses, and midwives with the goal of meeting society's need for competent and dedicated healthcare personnel. The research at the department spans many areas but shares a common starting point in person-centred and evidence-based care. We are nationally and internationally leading in person-centred care, and this perspective permeates education, research, and collaboration with healthcare.

The Centre for Person-Centred Care (GPCC) at the University of Gothenburg is a national interdisciplinary research centre established in 2010 with support from the government's strategic investment in healthcare research. Approximately forty research projects are currently ongoing regarding person-centredness in various long-term conditions and healthcare organization. GPCC is seeking a researcher in person-centred care, governance, and organization of healthcare.

Responsibilities

The position involves research, development, and collaboration within person-centred healthcare. The appointee shall initiate, conduct, supervise, and participate in research and development work at both national and international levels, with a particular focus on European collaborations.

Responsibilities include initiating and participating in applications for external research funding and contributing to the development of new research and collaboration projects.

The appointee will also contribute to the department's research-related administrative work. This includes, among other things, preparation and coordination within the GPCC preparatory group, steering group, and personnel council, as well as other assignments supporting the centre's and department's research activities.

Areas of Responsibility

The appointee has a special responsibility for developing research and knowledge development in person-centred care in connection with crises, disasters, and war.

The role includes serving as the chief editor for the report series Acta Universitatis Gothoburgensis – Studies in Person-Centred Care and being responsible for the scientific quality and continued development of the report series.

Furthermore, the appointee is expected to actively contribute to the development and implementation of person-centred healthcare nationally and internationally, with a special focus on governance.

The position also involves representing GPCC in strategic collaboration projects, including OMTÄNKT, in close cooperation with Samhällsnytta and Experio Lab, and contributing to the development of long-term collaborations with public and other external actors.
