Description
The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy for Children unit currently consists of 5 occupational therapists, 13 physiotherapists, and 2 rehabilitation assistants, with its clinic located at Queen Silvia Children's Hospital. The unit is part of the Health Professions and Radiology for Children department and functions as an independent referral source for wards and clinics within the Children's Hospital as well as within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP). Assessments and treatments are conducted on the unit within somatic and psychiatric inpatient and outpatient care in collaboration with relevant clinics. Our patients are children and adolescents aged 0-18.
What can we offer you?
We offer a developing role in a dynamic, positive, and well-functioning unit where clinical operations, education, research, and development work are conducted side by side.
We have strong team cohesion, share our knowledge, and support each other in daily work. New employees undergo an induction program with an assigned mentor to ensure a solid foundation and secure start.
Responsibilities
As an occupational therapist at the children's hospital, you will meet children and adolescents with a wide variety of diagnoses and needs. We see patients in both outpatient and inpatient care and collaborate with specialist clinics at the hospital; often, work is done in multidisciplinary teams regarding patient groups. You conduct new patient visits with assessments, offer treatment, and follow-ups. On the unit, we are involved in follow-up programs for many different diagnostic groups and follow up using standardized assessment instruments. You take independent responsibility for performing assessments and treatments in line with available evidence and existing guidelines.
The current position includes, among other things, hand rehabilitation after surgery or trauma, scar treatment, and work related to inpatient care. Other patient groups or wards may also be involved; the distribution of tasks will be discussed upon appointment and planned during the induction period.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. Professional experience and work with children and adolescents are meritorious. Your personal characteristics are characterized by curiosity, good organizational skills, teamwork ability, and a willingness to learn and develop new knowledge. You thrive working in teams. You should enjoy working flexibly and independently. As the role involves daily contact with many different people, high social competence and a good manner of dealing with people are required. In this recruitment, personal suitability will be taken into account.
We warmly welcome your application!
