About American High School, Uppsala

The school is centrally located in the Luthagen area. This autumn, the school will enter its fifth academic year and will have approximately 220 students studying on the Natural Science, Social Science, or Business programs. Teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching staff with a strong sense of community.

About the Role

As a teacher, you will teach Swedish to our students. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead lessons based on our pedagogical structure, for which you will receive guidance. You will work closely with a dedicated and cohesive teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are a natural part of everyday life. You will teach in a digital environment using digital learning materials in combination with traditional literature.

The position also includes class mentorship.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Start date August 3, 2026, or as agreed.

Your Profile

The position requires a Swedish teacher's license, as well as qualifications to teach Swedish at the upper secondary level. Experience teaching Swedish at the upper secondary level is also highly meritorious. You have a strong commitment to teaching and wish to contribute to the development of the school together with a strong team of colleagues, and you share our pedagogical view:
