We are looking for an additional colleague for the Special Needs Primary School in Östhammar Municipality, located at Vreta- and Vallonskolan, which is a grades F–9 school in the Gimo school district. This district is situated next to forests and nature, as well as an all-weather running track and a swimming hall. The Special Needs Primary School in Östhammar Municipality is a creative and developmental workplace where we offer students an enriching education during grades 1–9.

In total, there are approximately 450 students across the two school forms at Vreta- and Vallonskolan: regular primary school and special needs primary school. In the operations of Vreta- and Vallonskolan and the Special Needs Primary School, we have common goals and approaches, where the work is based on a shared annual calendar linked to Lgr22 and Lgra22. Teaching is based on scientific grounds and proven experience, and with support from research, clear and relational leadership is important for all students' learning and knowledge development, inclusion, and well-being. In our operations, we work with a promoting and preventive student health effort, and we have high expectations of students and colleagues. Job Description

When you work as a teacher and mentor, you become part of a tightly knit work team, a secure platform in your daily life. The position involves mentoring the youngest students in the special needs primary school. We plan and develop the operations together and work to challenge and support each student so that they all get good conditions to meet future challenges and opportunities. You will be part of one of the work teams where you will meet engaged and positive colleagues. Your ability to lead students' knowledge development and to collaborate with colleagues is central. You will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching together with your colleagues. Additionally, you need to strive to challenge and support each student to create the best possible conditions for future challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach students in the special needs primary school, or alternatively, that you have experience of teaching in the special needs primary school as well as leading groups of students in need of special support and of mentoring. You can handle the Swedish language in speech and writing and are accustomed to writing written assessments. You have good IT skills and know how to apply and use them in teaching.

It is meritorious if you have experience of teaching students in the special needs primary school and if you have been a mentor for a class in the special needs primary school. It is advantageous if you have experience of leading systematic teaching development, for example in a previous role as a lead teacher, as well as supervision of resources in the current school form. If you also have experience of a promoting and preventive student health effort based on Lgra22, it is to your advantage in this role. Finally, it is meritorious if this work has been done in a politically governed organization and if you have knowledge of working in the following systems: Unikum, Teams, Ritprat, Symwriter, and InPrint.

As a person, you have a positive basic attitude and the ability to show students and colleagues possibilities and solutions. Your engagement stimulates both students and us colleagues to learning.
