Located in Gamla Uppsala, Österledskyrkan has been running a music school since the 1980s. The focus is on teaching wind instruments and percussion, including participation in orchestras, as well as piano lessons. The work is led from the church's side through the Music School Council.

The music school is funded by municipal grants and has just over 80 students. All students receive individual lessons, and those who wish to focus more intensively on music may have the opportunity for double lesson time.

The music school has three student orchestras at different levels, as well as two adult orchestras: a symphonic wind band and a brass band, where students also participate.

Students are given several opportunities each year to practice performances, both individually and in orchestral settings.

We are currently looking primarily for a clarinet teacher for up to approximately 15 students. If interest and competence allow, saxophone teaching and orchestra conducting may also become relevant.

The position is primarily offered as hourly employment, but a fixed-term contract may be discussed for a workload of 50% or more.

Your qualifications:

• A degree in music education with a major in clarinet, or equivalent.
• Education and experience as a conductor, both for student orchestras and adult orchestras.
• Interest and experience in working with social media would be an advantage.
