We are looking for a highly skilled mathematics teacher who inspires through teaching and contributes to the development of colleagues. Description of Duties

As a Lead Teacher in Mathematics, you are a driving force in the school's development work. You are a skilled teacher with high subject didactic competence and documented ability to create teaching that leads to good results. You have experience teaching complex student groups and a strong commitment to ensuring all students succeed.

You lead development through your teaching, share successful methods, and drive subject development together with colleagues, special needs teachers, and school leadership. The Lead Teacher assignment is time-limited to two years but with the possibility of extension.

The assignment involves:

  • Conducting high-quality mathematics teaching.
  • Leading and driving collegial development work within mathematics, focusing on teaching quality and student learning.
  • Initiating and leading subject didactic discussions, as well as initiating and leading competence development.
  • Analyzing results and teaching together with colleagues, special needs teachers, and school leadership to identify areas for development and translate these into concrete improvements.
  • Contributing to the development of a common teaching culture characterized by high expectations, clear structure, and a strong focus on learning.
  • Following current research and proven experience and translating it into practice.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach mathematics up to grade 9. You have documented very good ability to conduct mathematics teaching, high subject didactic competence, and teaching skills that give students good conditions to achieve high academic results.

We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience leading collegial learning and development work in the subject of mathematics. It is also a plus if you have broader subject competence, for example, eligibility to teach Natural Science subjects. A strong interest in mathematics teaching, current research in the subject, and subject didactics are desirable. Knowledge of various neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF) and experience teaching complex student groups are also meritorious.

As a person, you are outgoing and social in your work. You easily establish contact with students, guardians, and colleagues. You work with a goal- and result-oriented approach in your teaching, planning, structuring, and following up on student learning based on clear goals. You adapt your teaching when conditions change.

In your role, you have good pedagogical insight and adapt teaching, methods, and communication to students' different needs and conditions, which contributes to inclusion and learning for all. You have good collaboration skills and relate to your surroundings in a listening and flexible manner. You listen actively, communicate clearly, and handle classroom challenges in a constructive way. Furthermore, you are development-oriented and see opportunities in new ideas, methods, and approaches. You actively drive and contribute to the development of teaching and the operations as a whole.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, as required by the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment (krigsplacering).
