Ellen Fries Gymnasium is a municipal upper secondary school in Uppsala focusing on entrepreneurship, education, and creativity. Description of Duties

In addition to teaching the subjects, the position includes class advisor responsibilities. You will teach students enrolled in apprenticeship programs, school-based programs (FS and SA), and within the framework of the Individual Program for Vocational Introduction.

Your task is to conduct pedagogical activities adapted to the different needs and prerequisites of your student groups. You contribute to developing teaching at the school together with students, colleagues, and other staff, and plan and implement teaching according to the curriculum. By encouraging students' curiosity, creativity, and knowledge-building, you make the teaching manageable and meaningful for the school's students. You collaborate with colleagues to create a positive learning environment and a good working environment for everyone present at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have previous experience teaching at the upper secondary level. You are a certified upper secondary school teacher qualified to teach both Natural Science and Mathematics, or another subject. A prerequisite for the position is good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Experience teaching students on vocational preparatory programs and/or students on the Introduction Program is an advantage.

You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve any conflicts in a constructive way. As a person, you are outgoing and social in your work. You find it easy to establish contact with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You have a good understanding that students have different prerequisites for absorbing knowledge. In your teaching, you adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. In your work, you plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively, while adhering to set timeframes.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
