Workplace Description

The Department of Experimental Medical Science is tasked with conducting research at the molecular, cellular, and integrative levels regarding the life processes that determine the body's function, both in health and disease. The department currently consists of six sections with approximately 60 research groups and around 350 employees. The department aims to deliver research of the highest international standard, serve as a hub for overarching research bridging clinical and pre-clinical fields, and be an inspiring educational platform for future researchers and teachers. The department seeks to promote collaboration with clinical research groups and strives to teach in various undergraduate programs at the highest professional level.

Tasks and Responsibilities

This is a fixed-term position to lead parts of the DataCatalyst Öresund project, led by Lund University. The role involves assisting the responsible Director and Project Manager, Kajsa M. Paulsson, with crucial aspects of its execution, management, and strategic work. The duties include, in collaboration with the Director and other members of the management group, assisting in:

  • contributing to coordinating the project and part of the management group (responsible for the project's daily operations, coordination, economy, communication, and administration)
  • being responsible for oversight regarding horizontal criteria and cross-border synergies
  • contributing to the project's overall goal achievement
  • contributing to effective meetings and dialogues in the Joint Steering Committee (JSC)
  • being responsible for internal and external communication, including with companies participating in the innovation processes
  • working to engage companies in the DataCatalyst innovation processes, as well as following up on and supporting the work in the approved innovation processes

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with experience in Interreg projects, good knowledge and experience in communication (text, graphics, web content management, video material, newsletters, social media), planning and organizing events such as workshops, conferences, and similar activities, and who collaborates well and thrives in a complex environment with partners from different sectors. The position requires documented experience in working with Interreg projects. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, experience, and ability to collaborate.

Requirements for the position are:

  • University education in a relevant field
  • Good knowledge of English (at least EF level B2)
  • Documented experience in communication (at least 10 years)
  • Documented experience in various Interreg projects (at least 2 years)

Merits for the position include:

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas of responsibility:

  • Coordination of international partnerships
  • Collaboration between academia and industry
  • Coordination and communication within international networks
  • Work with strategies for collaboration between research infrastructures, including policy and utilization
  • Overall responsibility for monitoring and goal achievement in Interreg projects
  • Experience in connecting the academic sector with the industrial side

Consideration will also be given to how the applicant, through their experience, competence, and personal suitability, is assessed to complement and strengthen the ongoing activities within the research infrastructure projects and the bioscience innovation ecosystem, as well as how they can contribute to the development of the Öresund Region (ÖKS).

Other Information

The employment is a special fixed-term appointment at 80%. The desired start date is 2026-08-01 or as agreed, but no later than 2029-06-30.
