The Technology and Community Services Administration is a broad and socially important workplace where many competencies collaborate. Here, we work with the entire societal construction process – from authority enforcement and planning to project implementation, operation, and service.
Our operations include environment and health, building permits, land surveying, projects, operation, maintenance, water and waste, as well as cleaning and catering. Within the support staff, there is administration, development issues, and GIS, which support the operations and contribute to coordination, quality, and long-term development.

About the Operations
The Water & Waste Business Area is responsible for all operations concerning water and sewer services as well as waste management within Motala and Vadstena municipalities.
The Waste Unit is responsible for the collection and treatment of municipal waste in Motala and Vadstena municipalities, as well as the operation of recycling centers, landfills, and waste facilities. The waste area is developing rapidly through changed legislation, increased environmental requirements, and the transition towards more sustainable and circular solutions.
We are now looking for a Waste Engineer who will play an important role in ensuring a well-functioning operation and contributing to development, quality assurance, and long-term improvement of our facilities and technical processes. The workplace is located in Tuddarp.

Responsibilities
As a Waste Engineer, you have a central role within the waste business area, responsible for ensuring that operations at our recycling centers, waste facilities, and landfill activities are conducted efficiently, safely, and in accordance with current requirements.
You work closely with the operational activities and are responsible for technical issues, operational follow-up, and development work within your area of responsibility. In the role, you will, among other things:
- Develop and improve the technical processes of the operations.
- Follow up on operation and results.
- Develop and create routines and work processes.
- Ensure that the operations are conducted according to current requirements and permit conditions.
You function as a specialist in issues related to waste facilities, treatment, landfills, and other technical facility issues. The role involves participation in projects, investigations, procurement, and development work related to future sustainable waste management.
The role also includes a clear functional responsibility within the business area, with the mandate to independently initiate, drive, and follow up on issues in close collaboration with relevant parts of the operations.
Qualifications
Formal Competencies:
- We are looking for you who have a university education focused on environment, technology, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.
- We prefer that you have experience from the waste industry, process industry, or other technical operations.
- It is meritorious if you have worked with operational or facility activities, environmental and authority requirements, development and improvement work, or public operations.
- You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and have good communication skills.
- A B driver's license is a requirement.
