The role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) with us

In the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator with us, you will work at the Adapted Upper Secondary School (national vocational programs and individual programs), the Hotel and Tourism program, as well as the Restaurant and Food program. Your primary workplace will be at Elof Lindälv Upper Secondary School, but you will also work at Aranäs Upper Secondary School two days a week.

You will primarily be involved in developing our student health work together with our student health team, school leadership, and colleagues, to ensure equal education and accessible teaching. You will have an overarching view of the students' prerequisites and the unit's pedagogical needs, observing both groups and individual students in classroom situations to create an understanding of the learning environment. The role also involves close collaboration with mentors and a clear division of labor to give each student the best possible conditions to succeed in their studies and, in the long run, take the step into the labor market, based on individual needs and prerequisites.

Your profile

You are unpretentious, collaboration-oriented, flexible, and solution-oriented. You have a genuine interest in young people's learning and development and contribute to a positive work climate. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for you who:

• are trained as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator or have other relevant special pedagogical competence
• have work experience in conducting reading and writing assessments
• have work experience in mentoring staff with the aim of meeting all students' needs
• have experience working in primary or upper secondary school

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working with the target group for adapted upper secondary school
