The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments, with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary school, and child and student health services—we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Lindbergs School is located in a rural setting, 8 km northeast of Varberg town center. The school accommodates 450 students in grades F-9. The schoolyard offers opportunities for play and movement, and the school also utilizes nearby areas for outdoor life and outdoor pedagogy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teacher in the after-school centre (fritidshem) working 50-60%. This position includes morning after-school care four days a week, as well as a resource role in the preschool class at Lindbergs School. Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. As a teacher in the after-school centre with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment for the students, where we create the best possible conditions for learning. Together with your colleagues, you shape a relational leadership style where the quality of teaching is in focus. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied teaching, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-confidence through play, creativity, and movement.

Examples of tasks:

  • Design teaching based on scientific foundation and proven experience.
  • Be responsible for clear leadership that promotes student learning, participation, and influence.
  • Plan and follow up on after-school centre teaching based on your choice of pedagogical and didactic strategies, adapted to the students' needs.
  • Meet each student in their knowledge progression and contribute to developing accessible learning environments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a consistent thread in student learning throughout the school day.
  • Take responsibility for being a good role model and contribute to an organization for planning and evaluating teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a teacher in the after-school centre, you are engaged and have a formative approach, with the ability to create motivating and activating teaching. Your teaching is based on proven experience and scientific foundation with an exploratory approach. You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the activity by planning and following up on teaching together. You have good structure in your work and can adapt teaching based on student needs and school goals. Together, we are responsible for creating a sustainable work environment where both students and staff feel good, can grow, and develop. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • Teacher certification with eligibility for teaching in the after-school centre.
  • A holistic view of learning and teaching, seeing the possibilities in supporting student development throughout the entire school day.
  • Good assessment skills to follow up on student development and provide constructive feedback.
  • Clear planning skills to structure lessons and work areas in an overview-friendly manner.
  • Good didactic skills to translate the purpose of the curriculum into practical activity.
  • Good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date: 2026-08-10. Start date according to agreement.
