DUTIES
Do you have a passion for the Icelandic language and the power of multilingualism? We are looking for you who want to make a difference for our students! As a mother tongue teacher in Icelandic with us, you are not only a pedagogue but also a key person in the student's identity and knowledge development.
In the role of mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating the teaching in Icelandic for students in primary school. Your focus is on strengthening the students' linguistic ability and pride in their cultural heritage, while supporting their general school success.
Teaching is scheduled at two schools.
QUALIFICATIONS
To succeed and thrive in the role, the following are required:
- Teacher certification, preferably with eligibility to teach Icelandic in primary school.
- Icelandic as a mother tongue and documented very good knowledge of the language (oral and written).
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish for collaboration and documentation.
Meritorious:
- Experience working as a mother tongue teacher or within primary school.
- Experience with digital learning tools.
We place great emphasis on your relational competence. You have a natural ability to create safe and inspiring learning environments where every student feels seen. You are communicative, flexible, and have a genuine interest in collaborating with colleagues, parents, and students.
A driver's license is a requirement.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: Start date 2026-08-10 or according to agreement.
Hourly position: approx. 4-6 hours/week.
