We are looking for an engaged and driven teacher of Swedish (preferably with competence in Swedish as a second language and English). You have the competence to teach Swedish at the upper secondary level (and preferably also English) and are either a certified upper secondary school teacher, a folk high school teacher, or have experience that the employer considers equivalent.

We initially offer a temporary position during the autumn with the possibility of extension, starting on August 10th. You need to be able to work 100% during August and September, as you will be replacing another teacher. After that, it is possible to work full-time or part-time, according to preference.

You will primarily work with General Course Upper Secondary, where thematic teaching is standard, in close collaboration with other teachers. It is an advantage if you have experience working thematically and/or based on adult education methods.

Litorina Folk High School is owned by a non-profit foundation and is located in the Gullberna area of Karlskrona. Founded in 1993, we are a Baltic Sea folk high school, which means we work to promote Baltic Sea cooperation and issues concerning our nearby geopolitical area, including civil preparedness, the global goals, democratic issues, and culture. We have several ongoing international exchanges, including with Finland, Åland, Estonia, Poland, Denmark, Germany, and Ukraine. We also have a Baltic Sea library that is under development and will be re-opened this autumn.

As a teacher at our folk high school, the role involves more than just working as a subject teacher. You are expected to contribute to the whole of the operation. We work for an inclusive and joyful school environment and to help fulfill the state's four purposes of adult education: to promote democratic development, reduce educational gaps, strengthen individual empowerment, and increase participation in cultural life.
