Position

We are looking for a teacher in Social Studies and History for Vägga Upper Secondary School. The position includes teaching on several national programs and in our operations for students in need of special support.

Responsibilities

You will teach and guide our students in Social Studies and History. We see you as an important and driving force to develop the subject with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. You will also be part of our upcoming organizational change and will help develop new working methods within your subject and school unit, but may also be assigned to other programs than the one you start on. Part of the position involves teaching in special instructional groups for students in need of special support.

Requirements for the position:

• Teacher certification for teaching at the upper secondary level in History and Social Studies.
• Experience working with children or young people in need of special support.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Qualifications that are meritorious:

• Previous experience working in special instructional groups.
• Education and experience as a special needs teacher.

We are primarily looking for you who have teacher certification in Social Studies and History. You have a strong ability to collaborate, can take initiative, and have the willingness and ability to meet and support each student in their learning, based on their knowledge level. You are a driven person who thrives on challenges and has a great interest in renewal and development. As a teacher, you see opportunities in working with ICT as a natural tool in learning and teaching. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

About the workplace

Vägga Upper Secondary School is located in a beautiful natural area with a promenade and the sea just a stone's throw away. Just over 1000 students and 150 employees study and work here. The school offers most national programs as well as introduction programs and adapted upper secondary education. The upper secondary school is divided into five school units, each with a responsible principal.

• The position is a substitute teacher position, permanent employment, and full-time.
• Start date: October 5, 2026, or as agreed.
