International School of Karlskrona (ISK) is an authorized IB World School offering both the PYP and MYP. The school caters to an international student body, and all teaching is conducted in English, except for Swedish. The teaching is based on IB's inquiry-based and concept-driven pedagogy, and ISK values collaboration, internationalism, and the holistic development of the student.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking an MYP teacher in Language and Literature and Individuals and Societies for a full-time temporary position of at least six months.

The role involves teaching primarily at International School of Karlskrona with MYP students, but may also include some teaching with PYP students depending on your qualifications.

At ISK, you will teach within the Middle Years Programme and work according to IB pedagogical methods. The instruction is in English and is based on inquiry-based learning, conceptual understanding, and an international perspective.

You love teaching and working with young people. You spark students' curiosity and give them the opportunity to develop both academically and as individuals. ISK has strong collegial collaboration, and you must thrive in a team environment and contribute to the whole.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a certified teacher with eligibility in English, social sciences, or a corresponding subject combination for grades 7–9.
• Has IB teacher training and previous IB experience.
• Works according to IB's inquiry-based and concept-driven pedagogy.
• Teaches in English.
• Contributes an international perspective to the teaching.
• Can lead and organize work to create a good study environment and positive learning conditions.
• Builds trusting relationships with students and guides them in an inspiring manner.
• Collaborates easily with colleagues and sees this as a natural part of the professional role.
• Has a good understanding of the school's governing documents and can implement them in daily work.
