Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a support assistant for activities under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), day activities, and short-term and leisure activities for children and youth under LSS. This is a combined position where you will work in both day activities and short-term care. We welcome your application!
Galaxen is a short-term and leisure activity center for children and youth. Children and youth attend Galaxen on certain days when they need a change of environment, stimulation, and/or when their parents need respite care. The staff's duties include, among other things, following the children's usual routines regarding school, leisure, sleep, etc. The work involves ensuring that the children have a meaningful and developmentally enriching life, adapted to their needs.
Day activities are an intervention under LSS for persons with functional impairments, with the goal of providing the individual with meaningful occupation. The activity should offer the individual stimulation, development, meaning, and community according to their wishes. An overarching goal of day activities is to develop the individual's opportunities for employment in the short or long term.
As a support assistant, your task is to create and follow up on implementation plans and action plans, which form the basis for quality-assuring each user's individual needs. Together with colleagues and support pedagogues, you will also be responsible for planning and developing the activities. Your duties include being attentive, having great patience, and using your pedagogical skills to support and guide users according to their individual needs. In the role of support assistant, you are expected to collaborate with users, colleagues, relatives, guardians/administrators, and external contacts to work with the user at the center of focus.
The position involves working on a schedule, including days, evenings, night shifts, and every other weekend.
Qualifications
- Education at the upper secondary level: Care and Nursing program or Child and Youth Program with a focus on social work.
- It is meritorious if you have experience working in day activities, short-term care, low-affective interaction, and clear pedagogy, as well as knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

Delegated HSL (Health and Social Care Act) interventions may occur.
A valid B driving license is required.
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) will be required.
