As an employee, you have access to a range of different benefits for health, wellness, and leave.

The administration's task is to offer adults guidance and education in lifelong learning. Within the administration, there is also guidance and support for adults' individual development towards self-sufficiency. The administration is responsible for integration and also coordinates labor market policy measures.

Description

Do you want to be part of a new development-oriented organization that puts the individual's needs, the whole picture, and self-sufficiency at the center? Do you want to work with both case processing and individual support that makes a real difference? Then we are looking for you!

The Income Support Unit is responsible for social services' financial assistance – society's ultimate safety net – where the task involves both assessing the right to financial assistance and supporting individuals towards long-term self-sufficiency. In our new organization, we are developing the work from a traditional caseworker focus to a coordinated, individual-focused, and goal-oriented approach to create sustainable solutions for the people we meet.

In connection with benefit reforms such as the activity requirement, the operations need to be strengthened. This position will largely focus on case processing and client work for people on financial assistance who have been assessed as too ill to work.

Tasks

As a caseworker with us, you work in two parallel and equally prioritized processes.

In the client-focused work, you will, together with the individual, create a holistic view of resources, obstacles, and needs. You will prepare, coordinate, and follow up on individual plans aimed at increased self-sufficiency. You will support, motivate, and follow the individual through the entire process.

Your assignment will primarily be directed towards working with people assessed as too ill to work, so you need to have good knowledge and experience of working in collaboration with healthcare, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Public Employment Service.

In case processing, you will investigate, assess, and decide on financial assistance according to the Social Services Act (SoL). You will ensure legally secure, equal, and efficient processing and document according to current legislation and local guidelines.

At your workplace, you will have knowledgeable and engaged colleagues. The work will take place in a cross-professional manner close to colleagues within the unit but also in cooperation and collaboration with other operations and partners.

In addition to client-focused work and case processing, you are expected to participate in and contribute to the operation's development work to achieve set goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in social work, behavioral science, or other relevant higher education.
  • Experience in public administration, preferably within financial assistance and social work.
  • Very good ability to work independently, structured, and solution-focused.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize interventions and make holistic assessments based on the individual's life situation.
  • Knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL).
  • Good knowledge and experience of working in collaboration with healthcare, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and the Swedish Public Employment Service, as well as a good understanding of sick leave processes and activity/sickness benefits.
  • Valid driver's license (Category B).
  • Good digital competence.
  • You must also be accustomed to documenting and expressing yourself well in speech and writing.

We consider it meritorious if you have knowledge of and experience with the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's recommended work tools, such as the assessment instrument FIA-Prerequisites for Work and other standardized assessment methods like AUDIT/DUDIT and FREDA.

Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) is also considered meritorious.

Otherwise, you need to be a secure person with the ability to make a difference for people in many different vulnerable life situations. Personal suitability is of great importance.

We also place great value on teamwork, self-leadership, and involvement. You are expected to take personal responsibility, find solutions, and contribute to good collaborations and a good work environment.

Offer

With us, you receive various benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness allowance, and wellness hours. For those who do not live in the municipality, there are good commuting opportunities, for example, a bike path along the Klarälven line and a bus from Karlstad every 20th minute. We act in the individual's best interest and work for a sustainable society. We improve and develop by learning from good examples. We have a permissive climate with respect for each other.

As a new employee in Forshaga Municipality, you receive 500 extra points with Forshagabostäder, which is enough to secure an apartment.

Conditions

The position is a permanent position with a probationary period.
