The Clinic for Emotional Instability is a specialist clinic within psychiatric outpatient care. We operate on a county-wide level and receive patients from all over Värmland.

Our team consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and care administrators. We are a well-functioning DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) team offering all components of DBT. We provide individual therapy, group skills training, and 24/7 phone consultation. In addition to therapeutic work, we focus on work rehabilitation and high-quality psychiatric medical care. The group continuously works on becoming better as a team and supporting each other to become better therapists.

Your Responsibilities

As a psychologist in the DBT team, your primary tasks will include individual therapy, group skills training, and phone consultation. You will also conduct other psychiatric treatments and assessments as needed. The unit has a consultative role regarding emotional instability, as well as providing education, supervision, and other consulting services.

As a psychologist at the clinic, you must have training in DBT. If you are not already a trained DBT therapist, we recommend taking the training in autumn 2026, which will be covered by the region.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have experience working within psychiatric care.

Experience working in a DBT team, as well as working with individuals with emotional instability and/or self-harming behavior, is considered an asset. Since some work with the patient group involves trauma-focused treatments, experience in this area is also meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is self-assured and takes responsibility for their work. You work independently, drive your tasks forward, and have the ability to make your own decisions.

You are flexible and adapt easily when conditions or priorities change. Even during periods of high workload or complex tasks, you maintain focus and work in a structured manner. You easily create and develop good relationships and contribute to good collaboration through an attentive and respectful approach.
