We are now looking for a Psychologist for First Line Youth North!
Your workplace
Region Värmland exists to ensure that everyone in Värmland feels well and that our region remains attractive and competitive. We have approximately 8,000 employees working in healthcare, dentistry, regional development, and public transport.
The area of operation for Child, Youth, and Family Health is a county-wide operation consisting of over 200 employees. It includes services at the Midwife Clinic, Child Health Center, Youth Clinic, First Line Youth, Family Center, Child and Family Support, Speech Therapy Unit, and Counseling Clinic for Victims of Violence. Together, we provide healthcare to the target groups of our operations, with a focus on preventive healthcare.
Our values are grounded in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the equal value of all people. These values serve as our starting point in our interactions with patients and colleagues. We are now looking for you who, together with us, want to make the best possible mental health care accessible to children and young people in Värmland.
Welcome to First Line Youth! We receive children and young people, aged 6–20, who show early and mild signs of mental health issues, regardless of the cause. The purpose of First Line Youth is to offer early interventions or quickly refer/redirect patients if needed, through a high degree of accessibility. The operation consists of several clinics around the county and is staffed by various professions such as psychologists, social workers, and healthcare administrators.
The mission of First Line Youth is constantly evolving. Join us on the journey toward seamless and accessible care for children and young people. In the autumn, the operation will be expanded with a new clinic, A Way In: First Line Youth Värmland, which will serve as a common entry point for incoming cases for all First Line clinics in the county.
Your responsibilities
Your main task is to provide advice, support, and treatment to children and young people with mild mental health issues, where interventions are based on a holistic view of the young person's life situation. You identify more complex problems to refer onward, as well as identify risky use and substance abuse.
Parental support is an important part of the work to enable good development for the young person. In addition to individual interventions, the role involves actively working to facilitate coordinated support when schools, social services, and child and adolescent psychiatry need to collaborate.
The work is performed independently, and supervision is offered as support in individual work.
Your knowledge and competencies
You are a licensed psychologist with an interest in and experience working with children, young people, and parenting. The role requires the ability to assess the needs of children and young people and, based on that, plan and initiate support and treatment. You have experience working in healthcare in an independent capacity and are accustomed to analyzing, reflecting, documenting, and describing the needs of children and young people.
Personal suitability, teamwork skills, and the ability to take independent responsibility are highly valued. We want you to contribute to job satisfaction and take responsibility for both patients and colleagues. Additionally, you are flexible and have good analytical problem-solving skills.
First Line Youth North is located in Sunne, Torsby, Hagfors, and Munkfors, which means travel as part of the job is included. A Category B driver's license is therefore required.
Apply now; interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.
