About Us

The Revenue Department of the Swedish Customs Authority has a broad mandate to ensure correct revenue collection, i.e., customs duties, taxes, and fees, through three operational areas: permits, post-clearance audit, and revenue surveillance. This means we issue and monitor permits that facilitate trade for businesses, verify that imports and exports are carried out correctly through, among other things, audits, and monitor that charged customs duties, taxes, and fees are paid. The regulatory framework for these operations is largely EU-wide, and we participate in many international working groups that develop legislation and processes.

The Revenue Department's work is conducted within four units with flexible groups that work on the Swedish Customs Authority's entire mandate but are specialized based on operational needs. The department consists of approximately 350 employees.

This may involve preparing materials and summaries for the department management, conducting investigations or analyses, handling internal and external consultations, and working on coordination, for example, by consolidating work carried out across different parts of the department. The role entails significant personal responsibility and requires the ability to work independently, but you will also collaborate with other colleagues within the leadership support team and with large parts of the rest of the Swedish Customs Authority.
