The Department of Digitalization and Service at Mittuniversitetet is looking for an engaged IT Support Technician who wants to contribute to a user-friendly and modern IT environment for the university's staff, students, and external partners.
The Department of Digitalization and Service is responsible for the university's IT operations, Service Center, Archives and Diarium, as well as media production. The department consists of approximately 50 employees with operations in Sundsvall and Östersund.
The IT support team consists of 13 employees who together offer professional and user-friendly support to the university's staff, students, and external partners.
Job Responsibilities
You will primarily work with IT support and assistance for our users and students.
Your main tasks will include:
- Handling incoming support cases via phone and case management systems.
- Providing support and troubleshooting in Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, and business-specific applications.
- Providing on-site technical support to staff and students.
- Installing and supporting computers, mobile phones, and other IT equipment.
- Creating and updating guides, cheat sheets, and knowledge articles.
- Participating in or leading smaller development projects.
- Contributing to the development of our processes, working methods, and routines within the support function.
Your Background
- Have a high school education.
- Have at least three years of experience working in IT support or service desk.
- Have good experience with Windows, Android, and macOS/iOS.
- Have worked with Microsoft 365.
- Have experience with Active Directory, including permissions, rights, and Group Policy (GPO).
- Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
Since our staff and students come from different parts of the world, you need to be able to communicate in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
Your Qualities
To thrive in the role of support technician, you need to be service-oriented and enjoy customer contact. Furthermore, you need to be able to communicate well and understand that different individuals absorb information and knowledge in different ways. The work involves both independent work and teamwork. Therefore, you need to be comfortable structuring and taking responsibility for your own work and deliverables, but also enjoy collaborating with others. You need to have experience with and enjoy problem-solving and solving complex problems.
Employment and Start Date
The employment is a permanent full-time position with a start date of 2026-10-01 or as agreed.
Work Location: Östersund
