Develop teaching and learning with us at Soldalaskolan

Teacher in Craft (Slöjd) Grades 3–9 at Soldalaskolan

Soldalaskolan is a comprehensive school (Grades F–9) with approximately 550 students, where the quality of teaching is at the center of our development work. Our prioritized areas of development are language- and knowledge-developing approaches (SOKA) and mathematics development through collegial learning. These areas permeate teaching in all subjects.

We do not recruit to fill a position – we recruit colleagues who want to contribute to developing teaching and learning.

We are now looking for a certified teacher in Craft (Slöjd) with qualifications to teach up to Grade 9. We are primarily looking for a teacher qualified in textile craft, but qualifications in wood and metal craft are considered meritorious.

Here, you will become part of a collegium where subject development and teaching quality are in focus. We are looking for a teacher who wants to develop students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and craftsmanship through teaching characterized by high expectations, clear structure, and language- and knowledge-developing approaches.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in Craft based on the Swedish National Curriculum for Compulsory School (Lgr22).
  • Be responsible for teaching in textile craft for students up to Grade 9.
  • Integrate language- and knowledge-developing approaches (SOKA) into the teaching.
  • Create a safe, creative, and structured learning environment where students develop both practical skills and abilities according to the curriculum.
  • Work systematically with assessment and feedback to strengthen students' progression.
  • Ensure that teaching is conducted safely and that there is a well-functioning learning environment in the craft rooms.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and actively contribute to the school's collegial learning and systematic quality work.

Who are you?

You see development work as a natural part of your professional mission.

You have clear pedagogical leadership and create teaching where students are challenged, succeed, and develop. You see Craft as a subject where practical work, creativity, and problem-solving go hand in hand with language and knowledge development. Through your teaching, you contribute to the school's common development areas and put systematic quality work into practice.

You want to develop teaching together with your colleagues and use analysis, follow-up, and collegial learning to strengthen students' learning.

Requirements:

  • Teaching certification with qualifications to teach Craft up to Grade 9.
  • Qualification in textile craft.
  • Experience of teaching in compulsory school.
  • Experience of planning, implementing, and following up teaching based on Lgr22.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

Meritorious qualifications:

  • Qualification in both textile craft and wood and metal craft.
  • Experience of language- and knowledge-developing approaches (SOKA) and work in multilingual student groups.
  • Experience of collegial learning, teaching development, and systematic quality work.

Personal qualities:

  • You lead teaching in a structured way and create a safe and creative learning environment.
  • You stimulate students' creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance through clear pedagogical leadership.
  • You collaborate professionally with colleagues and actively contribute to the development of teaching and operations.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We offer you

At Soldalaskolan, you become part of a collegium that believes in the power of professional collaboration.

We are looking for colleagues who want to develop teaching and operations together with their colleagues. At Soldalaskolan, development work is a natural part of the mission, and we expect all employees to actively contribute to our joint systematic quality work.

Here, it is not enough to be skilled in your profession. We are looking for colleagues who also want to develop their profession together with others.

Through collegial learning, language- and knowledge-developing approaches (SOKA), and a joint focus on the quality of teaching, we jointly develop an education where all students are given the opportunity to succeed.

As an employee of Södertälje Municipality, you are offered a secure employment, good employment conditions and working environment, competence development, and several benefits.
