Description
The Social Services Office in Norberg is looking for an engaged and skilled school social worker. In the autumn of 2024, a school social team was established as a collaboration project between the school and social services to identify students with problematic school absenteeism. The team includes representatives from the school and a social worker from the Social Services. The school social worker has an outreach and therapeutic role, focusing on motivating early interventions for children, young people, and their families.
As a school social worker, you work actively both in the school and in the social services' outpatient care. You participate in joint workplace meetings, supervision, and guidance at the social services, while also contributing to student health team meetings. The team at the social services office consists of three social secretaries, one youth caseworker, one foster care secretary, one intake secretary, and three family therapists. As a school social worker, you work closely with the intake secretary and family therapists to serve as a bridge to early parental support.
Responsibilities
The role of school social worker is based on both preventive/outreach work and direct client-focused work involving mapping and needs-oriented interventions. You work with families before they become subject to authority enforcement. As a school social worker, you are responsible for receiving individuals into the school social team and mapping, together with the family, what interventions the family and child may need. You participate in the support provided through both outpatient care and at the school, serving as a coordinating function for these, and collaboration with other actors such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Habilitation services may also be relevant.
In Norberg Municipality, children, young people, and their families are offered interventions without a needs assessment. This means that individual support and group activities can be conducted based on the individual seeking support directly from outpatient care.
Qualifications
You collaborate well with others and contribute to good cooperation with both internal and external actors. You have a solution-focused approach and work in a family-oriented manner to ensure that children and their families have access to early interventions. You work evidence-based and use methods to provide high-quality support to families in Norberg.
A university degree in Social Work (Social Worker) is required. Personal suitability is highly valued. Experience in outpatient care, particularly therapeutic and method-driven work with children and young people, is meritorious.
