Hagaskolan in central Umeå is a comprehensive school (grades F–9) with integrated and adapted hearing services. Our operations are characterized by dedicated and qualified staff, a positive attitude, and close dialogue – fundamental building blocks in our work supporting students in their development. Hagaskolan is one of Umeå Municipality's practice schools, which means we host student teachers for practice-based education (VFU) during the academic year.

We are now looking for you who want to work as a student assistant with us for the upcoming academic year!

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will work as a student assistant in a class with six students. Your role as a student assistant is to provide students with the prerequisites to participate in joint learning, in various teaching situations, in peer interactions, as well as in daily activities and society. You work in close collaboration with your work team and other educators at the school. Tasks may include helping students with the support they need in all learning situations, both in the classroom and in other facilities.

About You

You are a secure adult and a good role model. You also have the ability to connect with students. You see every individual and create a safe environment at school, collaborating with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and structured. You enjoy working with children in need of special support, as you are a very important part of their school day.

Furthermore, you have good cooperation skills, are sensitive, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students as well as with other important professional groups within the target group. You have good collaboration skills and show a professional approach towards the children, relatives, and other actors surrounding the students. You are engaged and have a desire to share our values, work towards set goals, and contribute to continuous improvements. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• Trained childcare worker
• Experience working with children/students with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF), preferably autism
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing
• Valid extract from the criminal record register, in accordance with the Act on Suitability Control

• Experience working in lower secondary school
