Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in the after-school center (fritidshem), you play a central role in creating a secure, stimulating, and meaningful leisure time for our students. In this role, together with colleagues, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities based on the curriculum, regulatory documents, and established goals. The coordinators meet continuously for joint planning. The position may also include further developing organized break activities in collaboration with colleagues.

The activities are created based on the students' needs and interests. Working in our after-school center means being part of the entire school's operations, where you collaborate with other staff to achieve the best results for the students' schooling. You always keep the student's learning in focus from a pedagogical, social, and physically accessible learning environment perspective. The assignment includes supporting the students' social and general development, expanding, and deepening their knowledge and experiences. During the school day, you collaborate with class teachers during instruction and create the best possible learning environment for the students during the school day and at breaks.

You make a difference for our students by believing in their abilities and encouraging creativity, movement, and curiosity. The work includes developing the students' social skills and knowledge. You work from a holistic perspective where school, break activities, and the after-school center are equally important for students to reach their goals. Collaboration with students, guardians, colleagues at the school, and your work team is an important part of the assignment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher in the after-school center or an after-school pedagogue with experience in planning, implementing, and following up on activities in the after-school center. You have good knowledge of the after-school center's curriculum as well as the school's mission and value base. We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience working in school and/or the after-school center. We expect you to be a person who can create a positive and creative learning environment for the students. You meet students individually, build good relationships, and spread a good atmosphere in your interactions with them. The ability to work independently but also in close collaboration with colleagues is seen as a given. You have a professional attitude and inspire trust in students, guardians, and staff. Furthermore, you are responsible, open to different working methods, and sensitive to students' individual needs. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) before employment. Interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
