About the role

Envirotainer was founded in 1985 and today has more than 10,000 active temperature-controlled containers worldwide. We transport millions of doses of medicine daily for all types of pharmaceutical manufacturers, covering over 2,000 pharmaceutical trade fields in more than 100 countries and 300 airports. With over 40 years of industry experience, the world's largest pharmaceutical manufacturers trust our products and our delivery – from large volumes of medicine to individual patient samples. Envirotainer currently has approximately 460 employees globally, with around 90 working at the office and production site in Rosersberg. As a Software Design Engineer, you will be part of the “Active Systems Design” group, a cross-functional team of 9 employees including developers within software, power systems, climate, and electronics. In addition to your immediate team, you will also collaborate with the rest of the R&D organization, including the “Mechanical Design” and “Compliance Verification & Documentation” groups, as well as production and other functions at the site in Rosersberg.

Responsibilities

In the role of Software Design Engineer, you will work on embedded software development, from development and implementation to testing, following a CI-based approach. The role involves both developing new software solutions and continuously improving existing systems. Development is primarily done in C/C++ and testing in Python, with a focus mainly on MCU/RTOS-based systems (e.g., for power systems), and later also on Linux-based embedded platforms. The position involves a combination of both development and testing, where both parts are a natural part of the daily work.

Main responsibilities:

  • Develop and further develop software and system architecture, as well as test new and updated functionality.
  • Plan, quality assure, and deliver software releases.
  • Manage and further develop existing solutions to ensure their long-term technical sustainability.
  • Contribute technical expertise within your area of responsibility by conducting technical investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and other relevant analyses as needed.
  • Plan and conduct demos of new and updated features for relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for both internal and external users.

We are looking for you who

This is a role for you with a strong technical interest, who is self-motivated and takes initiative to move forward. You have good collaboration skills, thrive in cooperation with different functions and people, and have a structured and meticulous work approach.

In addition, you have:

  • A university or civil engineering degree in computer science, mechatronics, electronics, or similar.
  • Several years of experience in embedded development in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Experience working with real-time critical systems.
  • Very good skills in English, both spoken and written.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

  • Experience programming power systems and/or batteries.
  • Experience with CAN protocol.
  • Knowledge in AI or machine learning.
