The Swedish Coast Guard is a civilian state authority that monitors Sweden's coastline and large lakes around the clock. With our maritime capabilities, we are a central operational actor in the maritime environment. We have a unique mission within total defense, where we have tasks within both civil defense and, under certain conditions, military defense. Our mission includes sea surveillance, law enforcement, crime prevention, and environmental readiness at sea. By continuously collecting and sharing sea information with other authorities, we create a civil maritime situational picture that is crucial for both crisis preparedness and security in the maritime environment.
Our ships and aircraft constantly conduct sea surveillance, and we can act quickly in the face of threats of criminality, emergencies, accidents, or threats to maritime safety. This strengthens society's ability to prevent incidents and, if something happens, to handle and restore order and safety in the maritime environment.

The Swedish Coast Guard works with and places great emphasis on employee engagement and leadership, which is why it is important that your values align with those of the Swedish Coast Guard – holistic view, goodwill, and commitment.
