Your Role

The production technology team plays a crucial role in the strategic work of developing and optimizing production for submarines and surface ships. You will become part of an engaged team with experienced colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge. Here, you will receive support and opportunities to develop within both lifting technology and fixture construction.

We are now looking for you who want to combine the role of Lifting Engineer and Fixture Designer. As a Lifting Engineer, you will work with dimensioning and designing lifting equipment for handling ships and their products. As a Fixture Designer, you will develop fixtures and aids for production directed towards our projects in submarines and surface ships.

You will be involved from concept to finished production capability. You will be a key cog in the organization when it comes to developing our lifting capabilities in production.

Main Responsibilities

Lifting Engineer

• Development of methods, aids, and tools for lifting and handling in production.
• Dimensioning of lifting equipment based on product weights and preparation of production documentation for the tools.
• Preparation and maintenance of documentation for ship docking.
• Preparation of work instructions for lifting and handling.

Fixture Designer

• Developing technical solutions in the form of fixtures, tools, aids, and special equipment based on design and production needs.
• Participating in design reviews with regard to manufacturability.
• Preparing manufacturing documentation and purchase specifications.
• Providing technical support during the manufacturing phase as well as during implementation and use of tools/fixtures.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are curious, interested in technology, and want to develop within mechanical design. You might be a recent university or civil engineering graduate, or have worked for a few years in design or manufacturing industry. The most important thing for us is that you want to learn and develop together with us.

You have good knowledge of structural analysis for steel structures. The assignments require the ability to deliver according to established technical requirements and laws. You have a strong inner drive and want to find ways forward to achieve results. In your work, you are goal-oriented and solution-oriented with a sense of order and structure, as well as a propensity for self-leadership.

You will work in an environment with many contact surfaces and cross-functional collaboration.

Desirable/Meritorious for this profile:

• University education or experience in mechanical design.
• Good knowledge of structural analysis for steel structures.
• Knowledge from mechanics/fixture construction within sheet metal forming, welding, and machining.
• Experience from the shipbuilding industry.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Windchill/Creo Parametric.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to the current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
