The Property Department is responsible for ensuring that the municipality's properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained. We work both strategically and operationally with operations, maintenance, cleaning, and property development – from ongoing service to advisory roles, project management, and long-term planning. Together, we create sustainable environments where the municipality's operations can function and develop. We are now looking for an Operations Engineer to join the Property Department.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an Operations Engineer with a focus on building automation who wants to work with the development, management, and quality assurance of control and monitoring systems in the municipality's properties. This includes ensuring that decided standards are followed in projects and management through advisory and follow-up, as well as evaluating new technology to assess potential new choices of standards and technology.

In this role, you will participate in procurement and projects within building automation and act as an expert, supporting the municipality's operations organization. You will provide advice on strategies and system selections regarding operational safety, energy, environment, and how they should interact with existing systems. You will support the organization in matters concerning system settings, troubleshooting, system improvements, as well as operational and energy optimization.

You are responsible for ensuring that data communication, system solutions, and integrations are carried out in accordance with the municipality's established guidelines for superior control and monitoring systems. Activities such as preparing construction documents, cost estimates, and schedules, as well as procuring consulting and contracting services according to the Public Procurement Act (LOU), are included in the job responsibilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a relevant higher education or university degree, or alternatively, other education or work experience that the employer deems sufficient. Experience with established building systems and communication protocols is advantageous.

You are solution-oriented, service-minded, and have good collaboration and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Swedish in both speech and writing. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

A Category B driver's license is required for the position.

The Consultancy and Service Administration provides support and services to the administrations in our areas of property, operations and service, catering, IT, and administrative support services.

During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license plus a certificate of personal details from the Swedish Tax Agency, or another ID document that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records are required. We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both a Finnish and a Sami administrative area.

In our municipality, a number of positions are classified for security, so a security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
