to apply for the job

Are you a nurse with a primary interest in working in outpatient care? One of our colleagues is retiring, which is why we are now looking for a replacement.

The Haematology Clinic at Linköping University Hospital provides highly specialized care in haematology with a strong research focus. Here, we diagnose and treat all kinds of haematological diseases, both malignant and non-malignant conditions requiring advanced treatment or investigation.

What we offer

We place great importance on providing our employees with stimulating, meaningful, and varied tasks with a focus on the patient's perspective, as well as good opportunities for competence development.

Initially, the focus will be on your personal development. You will be offered a structured introduction as well as a long-term individual development plan. All new employees are assigned a mentor. During the introduction, you will receive training in safe medication and cytostatic handling, theoretical reading days, and observation at other sections of the clinic.

In the long term, we offer career development programs within the Center for Surgery, Orthopaedics and Cancer Care (CKOC), with the opportunity to specialize in one of our core areas. We recommend that you complete the Contact Nurse education within the first few years if you have not already done so. If you wish to study further to become a Specialist Nurse, we work to give you the opportunity based on your prerequisites and previous experience.

Please read our career ladder for nurses and information about your benefits with us.

Job Description

We work according to a model where each patient has a Responsible Physician (PAL) and is planned to have a Contact Nurse (KSSK). Treatments are planned in consultation between the patient, PAL, and KSSK. During ongoing treatment, the patient also meets treatment nurses and on-duty outpatient/day-care physicians. Our nurses have combined roles as contact and treatment nurses, and we also have an operational function. Some rotation to inpatient care occurs (approx. 10–15%), mainly over weekends; otherwise, working hours are daytime at the outpatient clinic/day-care.

The clinic has very close cooperation with our inpatient ward as well as the research unit and cell therapy unit (CEL). Doctors, assistant nurses, and paramedical staff at the clinic (pharmacists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and counselors) collaborate closely, as the patient's journey during illness often requires both outpatient and inpatient care.

About You

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written (equivalent to at least level C1).

Merits:

  • Preferably over 3 years of professional experience as a nurse.
  • Experience working in haematology/oncology/medicine in inpatient or outpatient care, or both.
  • Experience or interest in rotation services between outpatient and inpatient care.
  • Specialist Nurse degree, preferably in oncology/medicine.

We are looking for someone who is calm, confident, and possesses personal maturity. You have good teamwork skills and can work independently within the team. You have a good ability to structure and plan your day, prioritize, and lead yourself and others. You understand your role in the team, communicate clearly, and consider the best interests of the entire operation in your actions and decisions. Education and experience are important, but we also place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Since we work process-oriented, it is crucial that you are positive towards development work and can see opportunities in changed ways of working.

Application and Employment

The position involves placement at the Haematology Outpatient Clinic with main working hours daytime Monday–Friday and some weekend duty at the Haematology Ward according to agreement. We conduct ongoing selection, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Interviews will take place during week 32.

Before employment in patient-facing work within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to fill out a health declaration.

We warmly welcome your application! If you need help registering in the system, contact Customer Service Support and Assistance, 010-103 60 00, during office hours.

To staffing, mediation, and recruitment agencies, and to you who are sales representatives:

We kindly but firmly decline direct contact with staffing, mediation, and recruitment agencies as well as other external actors and sellers of additional job advertisements. Region Östergötland has procured agreements.
