Description

The Adapted Primary School in Värnamo needs a new teacher for students studying subject areas. The position is part of the Adapted Primary School's work team at Trälleborgsskolan, where you will collaborate with special needs teachers, pedagogues, and teaching assistants. The students have various physical and neuropsychiatric functional variations.

We work in small teams with pedagogues and teaching assistants in small student groups, based on a relational approach and low-affective handling. Our learning environment is clear, structured, and accessible. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a natural part of the work, for example through the use of visual supports and signs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching within the five subject areas of the Individual Programme.
• Create an accessible, clear, and structured learning environment through language-developing methods, clarifying pedagogy, and AAC.
• Work with low-affective handling and a relational approach in all parts of the teaching.
• Lead and collaborate closely with a team of teaching assistants to create safety, predictability, and meaningful teaching together.
• Adapt teaching based on each student's communicative, social, and cognitive prerequisites.
• Work together with the student health team regarding strategies, adaptations, and student health initiatives.
• Participate in the organization's collegial learning through joint reflection, analysis, and planning.
• Actively contribute to systematic quality work, where documentation, follow-up, and analysis are a natural part of the job.
• Collaborate both internally and externally.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on intellectual disability. You with similar competencies, such as preschool teachers or teachers, are also welcome to apply.

The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, and have a good ability to see possibilities in different situations. As a person, you have a good approach, good cooperation skills, and an interest in working together in teams with different professional categories. Your approach is relational and focused on working health-promoting and preventive. You are flexible, receptive, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Our department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, adult education, and cultural schools in the municipality.
